April 21, 2005: (2.0 hrs.) Used my tank dimple dies (slightly deeper dimple than a regular die) to dimple the tank skin, ribs, and stiffeners

Clamped the T-405 bracket I manufactured to the leading edge of the tank's root rib (and with stiffener on the backside of the rib) and drilled the rivet pattern with a #30 bit according to the plans.  Since I will be using a flop fuel pickup tube that mounts through this bracket, I needed to be careful that my rivets did not interfer with the AN bulkhead fitting.
Drilled a 9/16" hole for the fuel pickup bulkhead fitting.  Since this fitting goes through the T-405 bracket, there is no need (nor room) for a washer on either side of the fitting.
Drilled the tank's outboard rib for its leading edge stiffener.
Drilled a 7/16" hole in the tank's root rib for the vent line.  Drilled a 3/8" hole for the capacitive fuel level sender's BNC connection.
Here I have one of the two capacitive fuel level sender plates clamped into position for drilling.
Fuel cap clamped into place inside the tank skin and being matched drilled.  The fuel cap retainer ring come with a slight contour that is meant to match the curve of the upper skin.  You kind of have to play with the cap in different positions to find the best fit.    Once it is drilled, the skin gets dimpled and the retainer ring gets machine countersunk.
