I finally got around to replacing my nose gear wheel and bearings with a setup from Grove.  Why?  Well, the Matco setup that Van's provides puts a lot of rolling resistance on the wheel because of bearing setup. A number of people are now switching to the Grove setup to get a free rolling wheel and thus lessen some of the oscillation effects of the nose gear when it comes down on the runway.

this setup from Gove is made of Magnesium and is several pounds lighter than the Matco whell

I will soon be riveting on the top skin and need to get some key things done while the skin is off.  Installing the brake fluid and bleeding the lines is one of those tasks.  If I have any leaks in the cabin, I want to be able to easily see and get to them.

I bought this bleeder system from Autozone.  It has a hand pump that creates a vacuum behind the reservoir.  I attached it to the brake reservoir on the firewall with some plastic tubing.  I then connected some tubing from the brake caliper to my can of brake fluid.   When you pump to create a vacuum, brake fluid gets sucked up through the brake lines until it starts coming out the reservoir.  I did this on from both the left and right sides.

Here is a shot of the brake fluid getting sucked out of the can and into the brake lines from the brake caliper.
